YOU and I - Kenny Rogers
Flasing back 3 to 4 years ago.
I was driving back home from my office, when the FM radio I listened playing the tune.
I did not know why at that time I could not recall Kenny Rogers' voice at all.
Perhaps I was too concentrating on the melody of the song.
The next day, about the same time, I also listened to the same FM radio station, and the tune played again. Then I think, this FM radio station must be using a computerized schedule in broadcasting. At that time I also realized there was no announcer saying something. No commercial breaks!
For several days, I tried to be 'on time' going back home, just to catch the tune, and very funny, they kept on using the same broadcasting schedule. :-D
Until one day, right after the tune finished, I could not hold myself to find out what is the title of the song, and who is the singer! And finally I have already made a call to the radio station (I asked the central telephone information to get the FM radio station number!).
Luckily, there was a gentleman answered my call, and told me it was Kenny Rogers' "You and I", I felt so silly that time, how I could not recall very unique voice of Kenny Rogers??
After since then, I tried to get the record. Every time visiting a record shop, I opened my eyes widely on Western Pop section, looking for Kenny Rogers' record. But could not find one until now!
Thanks to the internet! I still can listen Kenny Rogers' You and I, and also the version with Bee Gees, as 2 months later after I found the tune, the FM radio station disappeared totally until now. The frequency not longer available!
All the man I am
You are the reason for me
You help me understand
I'll be your shelter from the rain that never ends
Girl , you've always got a friend in me
All the love we had
I should've know our love was older than the past
Throwing my life away on songs I never heard
Just the speaking of a single word
I made you die inside but you loved me
And don't believe the world
No, the world can't give us paradise
When you make your love to me
Till I just could not see the light
As long as I got you
As long as you got me
As long as we got you and I
I won't let you down
No better love will be there when you turn around
I'll be living for you till the ocean turns to sand
There will never be any man
Could love you just the way that I love you
So don't believe the world
No, the world can't give up paradise
In the eye within the storm
Just when I could not make it through the night
As long as I got you
As long as you got me
As long as we got you and I

CAVATINA
The meaning of cavatina actually is as follow:
Originally it is written for Piano, but as per John Williams invitation it is re-written for guitar by Mr. Myers. John Williams has recorded the song long before it became famous caused of the releasing the movie of Deer Hunter.
I play guitar, but only at a very beginners level.
With a very hard practice I think I can play a part from the following scores of Cavatina.
Cavatina (Italian diminutive of cavata, the producing of tone from an instrument, plural cavatine) is a musical term, originally a short song of simple character, without a second strain or any repetition of the air. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cavatina)
But the Cavatina that I want to write on my post is the one wrote by Stanley Myers, which is used as a theme of the famous movie "Deer Hunter".Originally it is written for Piano, but as per John Williams invitation it is re-written for guitar by Mr. Myers. John Williams has recorded the song long before it became famous caused of the releasing the movie of Deer Hunter.

FORREST GUMP
Around 2 weeks ago, I was invited by a leading Bank to a kind of motivational talk.
The speaker using Forrest Gump's "RUN....... Forrest! RUN!" as one of the sample how actually people has their powerful inside strength, which many times was not visible due to many reasons.
Very often we limited our inside power ourselves. For example, we conditioned that we can not do a certain thing, and surely we can not do it as we think that we can't do it.
Reading many motivational books and listening to those who are expert in it sometimes really good for ourselves' development. Try to avoid being trapped between those who are categorized as 'energy sucker'. Those who always sigh and grumpy.
Several weeks ago, I put myself trapped between those people, and I let myself controlled by bad emotion. And I feel so bad along the week! That was just before I attended the talkshow.
Anyway, seeing the short episode from the Forrest Gump that day, brought my memory to its beautiful theme, composed by Alan Silvestri.
Please find below the music score.

SPAIN

I heard this sing for the first time many years ago.
It was the time when Yamaha introduced their new Electone Series........ huh can't remember the series now!
A senior player played "SPAIN" on the new electone.
I was stunning seeing his capability in playing the song and also knowing how powerful the music equipment.
Ever since then I like the song very much, and also the vocal version by Al Jarreau

NEW WORLD SYMPHONY
Yesterday, was the cremation of my teacher's husband (read my post titled "TIME" ).
After the requiem, before the coffin was closed, their children played Dvorak's New World Symphony - 2nd Movement. (The Symphony No. 9, in E Minor "From the New World" (Op. 95), popularly known as the New World Symphony, was composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1893 during his visit to the United States from 1892 to 1895. It is by far his most popular symphony, and one of the most popular symphonies in the modern repertory.
My teacher has 3 children. Born in a musician family, they are all becoming musicians too. Yesterday, The eldest played the snare drums, the daughter and the youngest son played the flute. The daughter opened the tune of New World Symphony, then the youngest son joined. It was so sad, even more sad, when the younger brother of my teacher's husband joined to sing the vocal part. His beautiful voice and his shaking body caused of the sadness, made us all in tears.
Please find below, a video from youtube.com of New World Symphony - 2nd Movement Part 1 from Dvorak:

TIME
1st June 2008 - a very sad day for me.
Somebody that I admired, passed away.
He is a 'teacher' of mine.
He taught me indirectly how to become a person who can manage time, discipline and think further before taking any decisions.
I still remembered on my childhood time, how he helped my teacher - his wife, to 'control' my laziness and naughtiness in practicing piano.
He sat next to me, and asked me to play various scales :-)
Truly, I was very lazy that time.
The way he left us is very sadly to be remembered.
He was hit by a motorbike when he was riding his bike.
Badly injured on his head, got a surgery that night, and left us two days after.
I was really shocked and sad yesterday when heard that he finally be gone.
My love one said, that he is not really left us.
"You still can see him thru things and work that he left!"
It is true, but I still feel sad.
Good bye...., you will be always in our memory.
Time, flowing like a river
Time, beckoning me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever... But time
Keeps flowing like a river
To the sea
Goodbye my love, Maybe it's forever
Goodbye my love, The time waits for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever... But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forevermore
Goodbye my friends, Maybe It's forever
Goodbye my friends, the stars wait for me
Who knows when we shall meet again
If ever... But time
Keeps flowing like a river (on and on)
To the sea, to the sea
till it's gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forever
Gone forever... Now
